I have tried every concievable configuration of Microphone and Speakers both RCA and USB connections. My end user didn't like any of them. He did not want an over the head set up. He wanted hands free with good quality in both sound and microphone. I came across this by chance and decided it was short money to see if it would work. And trust, I bought a lot of different stuff. We plugged this in, WinXp recognized it, said it was ready to use, we fired up skype, made a call and my end user proceeded to walk around his (large) office talking. The guy on the other end heard him just fine and we heard him just as clear. Side note: The skpe call was to a remote location, not within our local network.
You should have seen the smile on my end users face.........who is also the founder of my company. Points scored for me.

I purchased this for my parents to use when they use skype. I wanted them to be able to have a hands free conversation in the room with someone on the other end of the Skype connection. The speaker itself works ok, as they can hear me fine. The problem is the microphone delivers extremely poor sound quality to the person on the other end. And, it has extreme swings in the volume. I would not recommend this item.
