5 out of 5 stars Good Speakers for the Price   August 11, 2010

As has been stated in other reviews, these are refurbs. I bought them knowing that they were refurbs, thanks to the other reviews. Amazon should definitely have better labeling on this product. I was looking for a cheapish 2.0 speaker set though, and at nearly half the price of new I decided to take the risk with them.

The box had obviously been opened, as the plastic sticker on the lid had been cut. Inside, the two speakers were covered in bubble wrap, and had plastic sheets stuck on the back like you would expect if they came from a factory. The only sign on the speakers that would suggest that they aren't brand new is that the bar code sticker on the right speaker is somewhat faded.

The speakers themselves function perfectly, so buying refurbs seems to have been a win for me. I am listening to them right now, and the sound is better than I expected from speakers of this price. The entire spectrum seems to come though pretty clearly, though people who want big boomy bass will probably be disappointed. Of course, such people are unlikely to be looking for a set sans subwoofer in the first place.

The speakers don't have any hiss when not in use, even when the volume is cranked up. I have them connected to a pretty good sound card though.

The speakers are quite sufficient for filling up my small computer room, which was their intended purpose, so I am quite happy. If you are looking for an affordable 2.0 speaker set with good sound, I would give these a thumbs up.

I have had excellent Sony superior speakers and been very happy with the full range of sound they created expecially for classical music. When I compared the Creative Labs speakers to my older Sony's I was very favorably impressed and I would definitely recommend the Creative product. They have a a deep rich sound which totally impresses me. Thank you for your product range since I have been always happy with your marketing choices. Again thanks for all your expertise. Pete.

Great price for small powerful speakers.
The connecting wires are heavy duty, and the sound is nice.
The volume is loud and the bass excellent.
They are portable and durable.
I would buy them again.
