I recently bought these speakers from another source,(sorry amazon)just in case they had problems,I could return them fast.I noticed that alot are complaining about lack of bass and clarity of sound.I played drums and bass is what I use to
follow when playing.I'm not sure on laptops but it may be the audio manager which could cause the tinny bass, lack of good vocals and treble.Or it could be bad speakers.Try adjusting the Equalizer,if it has one.Next I've found that
the recordings that came from other sources (ie tape)if it not clear,no hiss,
dropouts, when playing back, you will notice a big difference in sound quality.
vs commerial cd's played where this hasn't happened.Try a different audio manager,if your laptop and or OS will accept it.these speakers work great good
bass, vocals and treble.I hope this helps.

Nice compact set of speakers for the price. Looks good on my desktop with all the other black computer hardware. I don't listen to music or video on my PC, so they are adequate.
